It was a proud day for Yamaha as well as its customers as the company got a prestigious India Design Mark (I Mark) from the India Design Council, making the company proud this time for their inaugural Scooter, Yamaha Ray. With Yamaha winning this award last year for Yamaha R15, this is Yamaha’s second successive I mark award. With prominent persons from all the streams like academics, design and industry organization on the bench, this makes the award a prestigious one. The Indian design council is also connected with India’s Ministry of Commerce & Industry. India design mark i.e. I mark program was approved from Japan institute of design promotion, and is of same level in competition as Japan’s Good Design Award (G Mark). I Mark Awards was first started in 2012 and during the second year of the awards, i.e. 2013, Yamaha Ray has proved itself by being one of the 39 I Mark recipients.
With many working women in the Indian economy, there is abundant market for stylish, comfortable and easy to use 2 wheelers. Yamaha launched their Ray in September 2012. The Ray was just developed to meet the needs of young women of today. Yamaha Ray was instantly liked by consumers and was appreciated for its looks, fuel mileage, comfort, power, smooth acceleration, lots of storage space and easy to use stand. All this is what women require in their scooter, which is the reason why Ray was an instant hit.
Speaking about this award, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. said, “Appreciation in any form is a welcome boost to a company and its products. He also said that the team is very happy with the recognition that I Mark has given their scooter Ray. The positive response the scooter is getting from the customers has encouraged the company to deliver more and more quality products in future. The team which understands its customers can only deliver these kinds of stylish and comfortable vehicles.”
Our team wishes Yamaha congratulations and we hope the company keeps on delivering such customer friendly stylish bikes in future.
