The new 2012 Suzuki GSX-R 1000

Most of the motorcycle companies are launching their version of superbike for the year 2012, among which a large number of companies have launched refreshed version of their older superbikes. It’s Suzuki’s turn now, and they’ve finally revealed the 2012 gsxr 1000.

In the above 2012 gsxr 1000 pics, there aren’t any significant visual changes. Most of the changes are under the seat. The new version is claimed to give better acceleration, throttle response, fuel efficiency and lighter exhaust. The bike handles better now; thanks the lighter exhaust which helps the bike shed some weight on the rear.

Taking a look at finer details, 2012 suzuki gsx-r1000′s new pistons are 11% lighter and the cylinder bores come with better ventilation system. Suzuki has opted to keep the compression ratio as 12.9:1, as opposed to 12.8:1 on the previous model. The bike now uses Brembo monobloc brakes with thinner Sunstar Engineering front discs, 7mm shorter forks with 5mm less stroke, a lighter front tire and a lighter front axle, all of which makes the bike lighter by 2kgs than its predecessor. The bike also comes with new graphics.
