Jorge Lorenzo grabbed the victory at the opening round of the 2012 MotoGP season in Qatar. The previous year champion Casey Stoner was pushed to third, as his challenge faded under the lights today.

Honda’s rider Stoner was first pushed to second place by Lorenzo and then his team mate Pedrosa pushed him to third place. Pedrosa finished the final lap as a runner up.

After the end of opener race, Stoner revealed that he had been facing ‘arm pump’ problem, a condition which is common among motorcycle racers and it will cause muscular swelling in the arms. As a consequence the rider will face a problem in gripping the handlebars.

‘We were by far the fastest out there. After four laps I started getting really bad arm pump. By the end of the race I could not grip anymore. I could not keep up the pace.
‘But in general we’re happy. There are a lot of positives to take from this. We’re pretty happy with the pace.’ Stoner said after the race.

Therefore, it was a good day for Lorenzo in Qatar. Hope he will keep his form alive throughout the season and hope Stoner bounces back in the next race.

We wish all the riders a very good luck for the race ahead.
