Recently, we had written about Bajaj’s new Discover 125ST, a motorcycle aimed for masses. Now Honda has launched a new bike in the commuter segment which they had showcased earlier at the Auto Expo 2012, the Honda Dream Yuga 110.
Dream Yuga is being marketed as a city bike and carries a catchy tagline – ‘Ek naya yug, ek naya dream’. Dream Yuga looks very similar to the Honda CB Shine, however, the bike is powered by a 109cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with power output of 8.5 BHP @ 7500 RPM and a peak torque output of 8.91 Nm @ 5500 RPM, and yes, this is the same engine which powers the Honda CB Twister. A 4-speed manual gearbox takes care of transmission. While Honda claims the mileage to be 72 kmpl, we can definitely expect it to return 60kmpl. The bike also features Honda’s intelligent ignition control system which monitors the load and increases torque and mileage accordingly.
Honda Dream Yuga will be available in 5 colours – Black, Force Silver Metallic, Maple Brown Metallic, Monsoon Grey Metallic and Alpha Red Metallic. The bike is available in 3 variants- Base variant with kick start and spoke wheel will cost Rs. 44,642/-, while the mid variant which sports kick start and alloy wheels is priced at Rs. 46,134/-. The top end variant featuring both, electric start and alloy wheels, is priced at Rs. 48,125/- (all prices are ex-showroom).
