Hero Motocorp hikes price tag

Hero Motocorp has been India’s largest two wheeler manufacturer and a trusted bike manufacturer (Hero-Honda) since years. The company has now increased the price of its products by up to Rs. 1,000. The sole reason behind increasing the price is due to increase in input costs.
“In order to partially off-set the rising input costs, Hero MotoCorp have raised prices on most of its products in the range of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. This new pricing is effective from today (May 2nd),” Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
The company has registered a total turnover of Rs 23,579 crore in the financial year 2011-12 when compared to Rs 19,397 registered in the previous financial year and have sold over 62,35,205 units in the FY 2011-12.
HMC has a sale figure of 15, 72,027 units in the fourth quarter, up till March 2012, which is company’s highest ever quarterly sale till date.
