Bajaj Discover 125ST launched

Bajaj Auto today unveiled the all new Discover 125ST. Discover is one of the best selling brands in the commuter segment, and this new model is set to revolutionize the way one thinks of a commuter bike.

Commenting on the launch, K Srinivas, President – Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd. said,“We believe that the average Indian commuter has to compromise a lot for fuel efficiency. With the Discover ST we are making a statement that mileage need not come with boring design and outdated features.
He further added, “The Sports Tourer is an everyday fun ride to work. We believe that the sporty evolution of the commuter category will occur fast, and it is our intention to dominate this segment by introducing such breakthrough products.”

The next-gen Discover is feature rich and comes laden with latest technology such as gas filled Mono-shock. The bike also gets a new chassis and swingarm, which should enhance the handling a lot. The new discover also gets aluminium foot pegs, new mud guards, an all new speedo console and many more, but the major change that is worth noting is the engine itself. The new Discover 125 ST (Sports Tourer) comes with a 4-valve 125cc DTSi mill which can produce 13PS of power and 1.1kgm of torque. What’s more? The bike boasts the same power:weight as the Pulsar 150!

Pricing plays a major role, and keeping in mind that customers going for a commuter segment vehicle generally don’t come with deep pockets, Bajaj should price this machine appropriately, which of course they will. At present, the company hasn’t disclosed the price tag. This bike is expected to be seen in the showrooms in second half of June.
