Fresh Spy Images Of 2011 Yamaha R15

Few months back, we had seen spy pics of new R15 being tested, floating around the web. Some clearer pictures of the same bike have emerged, yet again. One of the readers at bikeadvice.in got hands on one of these pictures. There has been a lot of rumors regarding the launch of Yamaha R125 in India. Yamaha has denied any such plans, and this bike is indeed just a face lifted version of R15. An update to R15’s design was long overdue anyways. The new version looks absolutely stunning, with some design cues taken from the R125. People have always complained about the puny rear portion the R15 has got. Seems like Yamaha has taken their complaints into consideration this time.

The bike is speculated to come incorporated with power output figures as high as 22 PS , better looking headlights & tail-lamps, newly designed alloy wheels, split seats and most importantly, fatter tires giving the bike an overall  fresh and awesome look. The bike should be weighing almost same, given the newly designed alloys which look lighter. Three years ago, prior to the launch of R15, media speculated the power delivery to be around 22PS. The engine remains the same, however, it may come with a remapped ECU which will enable the engine to deliver better low end power. To keep a track, Pulsar 220 spits out about 21PS (Hunto! ) of power at the crank. The price is expected to remain the same (despite rumors suggesting that it will be priced 10,000 rupees lesser).

Yamaha should have replaced the tank with something bigger. Nevertheless, the bike looks awesome and we’re apprehending for some official words from the company. We speculate the launch of this baby on 15th June, 2011, because that particular date marks completion of 3 complete years, since the debut of R15 in India.

Ride safe and keep revving.
